Mobile IoT devices in agriculture up to 17 mln in 2016

The installed base of wireless IoT devices in agricultural production worldwide hit 17.0 million connections in 2016 and is expected to continue growing at compound annual growth rate of 10.0 percent to reach 27.4 million in 2021, according to data from Berg Insight. The report outlines the broad range of wireless technologies used in agricultural production, with the main application areas for cellular communication currently machine telematics and remote monitoring via in-field sensor systems.
