Mobile proximity payments to hit 1 bln by 2019

The global mobile proximity payment user base is set to grow from around 689.99 million in 2014 to 4.77 billion in 2019, according to a report from Ovum. The forecast includes both NFC and non-NFC mobile payments, as well as m-commerce and person-to-person (P2P) mobile money transfers. Ovum added that by 2019 there will be a total of 1.09 billion active mobile proximity payment users worldwide, of which 939.10 million will be NFC. The total transaction value of mobile proximity payments (both NFC and non-NFC) will grow from USD 4.77 billion in 2014 to USD 141.21 billion in 2019, said the
