Mobile tariffs down 18% in Mexico since 2013 reforms

The price of long distance calls has dropped by 40 percent since the reform of the Mexican telecommunications sector in June 2013, while mobile telephony tariffs have gone 18 percent lower, Secretary of Communications and Transport Gerardo Ruiz Esparza told daily El Financiero. The Secretary said that telecom users have saved around MXN 19 billion with the 100 percent reduction in national long distance tariffs.
