Mobilis launches mobile internet for taxi companies

Algerie Telecom subsidiary Mobilis has launched an internet service for taxis. The "Taxi-connect 3G++" service will use the operator's 3G++ network and in-vehicle Wi-Fi routers for passengers to go online during their journey. Taxi companies will be able to add an internet access charge to the fare. The service was demonstrated with two taxi companies. Mobilis CEO Saad Damma said that the service is being introduced in Algiers before being extended to the other provinces covered by the operator's 3G++ network.
