MoCA 2.5 specification released for members

Thursday 14 April 2016 | 09:12 CET | News
MoCA, the Multimedia over Coax Alliance, has approved its newest specification, MoCA 2.5. The latest standard supports up to 2.5 Gbps data rates and comes with additional features that address network management and security for service providers. The new specification is backward interoperable with MoCA 2.0 and MoCA 1.1. Developed in the past year, MoCA 2.5 offers 2.5 times the data rates as the previous standard MoCA 2.0. It also offers easier setup and addition of new nodes with password sharing via push-button (similar to Wi-Fi WPS). The new specification is available to alliance members
