Montenegro broadband subs pass 84,000 in December

The number of broadband internet subscribers totalled 84,238 at the end of December 2012, up from 83,494 at the end of November, according to the country's Agency for Electronic Communications. ADSL was the most popular access technology with 69,608 connections, while WiMax had 7,710. Most of the subscribers (65.07%) opted for 1-2 Mbps service speeds. The number of fixed telephone lines in Montenegro dropped to 169,803 at the end of December 2012 from 169,844 a month earlier, according to the regulator.
