More Belgians shopping over smartphone, m-payments still low

Smartphones are becoming more popular for online shopping in Belgium. In the third quarter of 2016, 16 percent of Belgians purchased at least one product or service over a smartphone, up from 12 percent a year earlier. according to research by GfK. The smartphone passed the tablet to become the third most popular device for online shopping, after laptops and desktops. While mobile shopping is growing, mobile payments are still limited. Sixty percent of Belgians said that mobile payment technology needs to be developed further before they will use it more often. The biggest barrier to payment
