More Germans pay for journalistic content - Bitkom

The willingness of Germans to pay for journalistic content online is rising, according to a survey by Bitkom. In the last 12 months, over one third (36%) of internet users have paid for access to news or other journalistic content, up from 31 percent a year earlier. This rises to 48 percent (up from 40% a year earlier) for internet users who read news online. Just over one fifth (22%) of internet users pay a monthly subscription and 20 percent have paid for individual articles or items in the last 12 months.
