More South Koreans switch to IPTV from cable TV

South Korea's number of IPTV subscribers rose 9.3 percent year-on-year in 2018 to 15.66 million, Korea Times writes citing a report from the Korea Communications Commission (KCC). Cable TV subscriptions dropped over the same period by 1.7 percent to 13.8 million. The gap between the two segments has been widening in recent years. In 2017, IPTV surpassed cable TV for the first time by 290,000 and in 2018 the gap further enlarged to 860,000.
