Moroccan operators discretely lift VoIP ban

Sunday 7 February 2016 | 18:31 CET | News
Moroccan mobile phone users can use VoIP apps such as WhatsApp, Skype and Viber again since 4 February, after access was blocked at the start of the year, Liberation reports. Maroc Telecom, Meditel and Inwi have all lifted the ban without making any official statement. When the operators blocked VoIP they justified the move as a way to protect their voice revenue. Telecom regulator Anrt has yet to comment on the matter.
