Most German internet users are aware of data protection need

Some 67 percent of internet users in Germany consciously choose not to use certain online service if they have to provide personal data such as their name, email address or date of birth, because of concerns about the misuse of their data, according to a recent survey by IT association Bitkom. It found 87 percent of those who deliberately abstain from social networks or online storage services are worried that their data would be passed on to third parties.
