Most German workers available outside of office hours

Three quarters (77%) of workers in Germany can be reached outside of regular working hours by e-mail or mobile phone, according to research by Arris for ICT industry group Bitkom. The survey found that 30 percent are available to colleagues and customers at all times, with 32 percent making themselves available at specific times, such as workday evenings and weekends. It also found that 87 percent of all workers use a PC and 67 percent use a mobile phone or smartphone for their work. Over three quarters (79%) use a mobile device for their daily work, including notebooks, tablets and handsets.
