Most Germans prefer to contact customer services via phone

Digital industry association BitKom said 56 percent of people in Germany have had difficulty in getting through to customer services. It was citing a questionnaire that it commissioned to coincide with the 'IT & Business' fair in Stuttgart from 04 to 06 October. Asked for their preferred method of customer service contact and which channel should be more widely available, 60 percent said the telephone. Bitkom's Enterprise Content Management (ECM) deputy chair, Andreas Nowottka, said this was because they preferred personal, direct contact with someone who could deal with their issue
