Most Swedish detached homes still lack fibre broadband

Most detached homes in Sweden lack an internet connection at 100 Mbps, according to the national Broadband Forum. Only 15-20 percent have access to fibre, compared with 80 percent of homes in blocks of flats. Almost every detached house has access to broadband via copper or mobile network. The forum's Villa Group said there are differences between regions and local councils in how matters such as access, planning and compensation are dealt with. It said town councils need more support in handling the topic. The forum also found the need for public information and a requirement for reasonable
