Motorola completes split into 2 companies

Motorola has completed its split into two companies, with the official start of trading in the new companies Motorola Mobility and Motorola Solutions in New York on 4 January. Motorola Mobility includes the company's consumer-oriented products, such as mobile phones and set-top boxes, while Motorola Solutions serves the business and professional market with products such as radio systems and network equipment. Motorola shareholders will receive one share of Mobility for every eight shares of Motorola Inc they already held. Motorola Inc shares will be split 1-for-7 into shares of Motorola
