Movistar Argentina first to launch 4G in provincial capitals

Thursday 2 June 2016 | 15:56 CET | News
Movistar has announced that, just 18 months after its launch, the operator already offers 4G coverage in the capitals of the 23 provinces of Argentina. The operator currently offers coverage in more than 380 locations, thanks to the more than 3,000 base stations in operation, covering more than 68 percent of Argentina's population with the new network. Movistar now has 3 million 4G customers that will gradually migrate data traffic to this technology. In the Federal Capital, LTE accounts for 52 percent of the total, while in the provincial capitals it amounts to 46 percent.
