Movistar Mexico partners with Televisa, Telcel, Huawei

Friday 21 April 2017 | 10:33 CET | News
Movistar Mexico (Telefonica) has reached new strategic partnerships with local media giant Televisa, Telcel (America Movil) and China's Huawei to strengthen its presence in the country, reports business daily El Financiero. The roaming agreement with Telcel will allow Movistar to launch 3G-based services in over 500,000 smaller localities throughout the country, while the deal with Televisa will give Movistar subscribers access to the Blim OTT platform at a discounted rate. The deal with Huawei gives Movistar's postpaid clients 5 to 10GB of free cloud storage, said the report.
