Movistar Mexico targets 12 MVNOs on network this year

Telefonica Mexico is looking to sign up at least five new MVNOs to its Movistar network by the end of the year, reports Notimex, citing the company's wholesale business director Boris Velandia. "We hope to have three to five MVNOs by the end of the year, and are already working with three, in addition to the seven we already have," said Velandia at the MVNOs Industry Summit Latam 2015 forum. Velandia added that regulatory changes in the fields of market dominance and portability should allow Mexican MVNOs to grow from the current market share of under 1 percent to over 3 percent in five
