Movistar, VTR sign national roaming agreement

VTR and Movistar have signed a five-year national roaming agreement in Chile, Diario Financiero reports, citing Mauricio Ramos, VTR CEO. The agreement allows the cable operator to use Movistar's network to expand its coverage as an MVNO. According to Ramos, VTR is currently deploying its own network that aims to cover 70-80 percent of the voice and data traffic that the operator expects to have, while the remaining 20 to 30 percent will be covered by this agreement.
