MP committee clears GCHQ of indiscriminate surveillance

The UK legal framework concerning surveillance "lacks transparency" and is "unnecessarily complicated", according to a new report from the Commons Intelligence and Security Committee (ISC), the BBC reports. The MPs are calling for a consolidation and simplification of the laws under a new act of parliament. The report looked into security as well as the impact of surveillance activities on people's privacy.
