MTA to release m-ticketing app in New York with Masabi

The US Metropolitan Transportation Authority will launch in June a free app named MTA eTix that will allow Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) and Metro-North (MNR) customers to purchase train tickets anytime, anywhere on their mobile devices, instead of using paper tickets. The announcement was made by New York Governor Andrew Cuomo at an event held in Manhattan following the success of a field test. The app is being developed and implemented by Masabi.
