Monday 4 July 2016 | 09:51 CET | News
Namibian operator MTC has launched its 'oSmartPhona' roadshow in Windhoek's Katutura and will sell a subsidised smartphone for NAD 399, in order to promote access to the internet and other smartphone features to people on low incomes in towns and rural areas. The roadshow will run until 20 August and make 37 stops in smaller settlements and villages, The Namibian reported. The project complements the recent NAD 60 million upgrade from 2G to 3G telecommunications network in remote areas.
