MTC Touch launches HSPA+ services in Lebanon

Lebanon's operator MTC Touch has launched HSPA+ services in the country. The firm said the service is already in use by 98,000 subscribers, after 7,000 customers signed up in a day. The initial areas covered by the mobile broadband service will include Beirut, Saida, Zahle and several parts of Larger Beirut, through the upgrade of 420 of 850 sites in total. Telecommunication Minister Nicolas Sehnaoui launched the service. MTC Touch CEO Nadim Khater also launched the company's new pricing for data services, which allows a standard rate of LBP 0.5 per MB. Customers can also subscribe to monthly
