Mtel deploys LTE network with 75% coverage, tests 4.5G

Bulgarian operator Mtel launched its 4G/LTE network on 25 April. At present, the maximum speed that can be achieved through the network is 86 Mbps, which is twice faster than the operator's 3G network. This rate will increase to 130 Mbps after the company will receive the necessary frequencies from telecommunications authority CRC within one or two weeks. Mtel's 4G/LTE network covers 75 percent of the population of Bulgaria but the operator will continue to gradually add new locations to the coverage of its 4G/LTE network. During the press conference held on the occasion of the launch of the
