MTN Ghana subscriber base grows to 20.8 mln in Q1

MTN Ghana's subscriber base increased to 20.8 million in the first quarter ended 31 March from 18.8 million in the same period in 2018. The number of active data subscribers rose to 14.3 million from 6.7 million in 2018 and the number of active mobile money subscribers expanded to 9.9 million from 8.4 million. Service revenue increased by 21.9 percent year-on-year (YoY) benefiting from good growth in voice revenue (up 20.3%), data revenue (up 22.3%) and MFS revenue (up 51.0%).
