MTN Group invests in Iran's Uber-like service Snapp.ir

MTN Group said it will invest the equivalent of ZAR 315 million in Snapp.ir, Iran's first taxi-hailing smartphone application, reports Bloomberg. The operator, which has USD 1 billion invested in Iran, said the funds will allow it to quickly expand to other cities, than Tehran. Snapp CEO Shahram Shahkar said MTN will transfer the cash to the app's owner, Iran Internet Group, which operates and invests in start-up and e-commerce companies.
