MTN Ivory Coast subscriber base up 4.1% to 8.3 mln

MTN Ivory Coast increased its subscriber base by 4.1 percent to 8.3 million in 2015 in what it called a competitive market. Growth was supported by segmented offerings and bonus bundle promotions. After net additions of 330,000 subscribers last year, MTN expects this to slow to around 75,000 in 2016. Total revenue increased by 2.2 percent to XAF 299.7 billion in 2015, supported by data revenue growth of 41.5 percent. EBITDA declined to ZAR 2.19 billion from ZAR 2.47 billion in 2014, hurt by high maintenance costs and an increase in rent and utilities associated with 3G network roll-out, it
