MTN Nigeria revenues fall 2.1% in 2015

MTN Nigeria ended 2015 with 61.3 million subscribers, up 2.3 percent compared to the previous year. Its market share reduced to an estimated 44.7 percent from 49.0 percent the previous year. MTN said subscriber growth was hurt by the ongoing withdrawal of regulatory services, after the company received a multi-billion-dollar fine for not adhering to subscriber registration rules. As a result, the mobile operator disconnected a number of unregistered Sims and was restricted from introducing new tariff plans and promotions. In total, 6.7 million subscribers were disconnected last year,
