MTN South Africa says Electronic Communications Amendment Bill is draconian

MTN South Africa says the government's telecommunications bill, if enacted without radical changes, will have a "devastating" effect on the ICT sector, destroying the incentives that have led to almost universal mobile coverage in the country, TechCentral reported. MTN has submitted written comments on the Electronic Communications Amendment Bill ahead of parliamentary hearings on the subject on 29 November.
