MTN Uganda hikes utility bill payment fees

MTN Uganda has increased its Mobile Money transmission charges for paying bills from utilities National Water and Sewerage Corporation and Umeme electricity, New Vision reported. The charges took effect in February. MTN Uganda CMO Ernst Fonternel said that this was done because the utility companies were reluctant to pay MTN for the transactions.
