MTN Uganda launches Wi-Fi service

Tuesday 22 January 2013 | 17:45 CET | News
MTN Uganda has launched a new Wi-Fi service that provides a number of hotspots around the country. The service can be accessed by MTN and non-MTN customers. To use this service all customers are required to register. MTN customers will need to have an internet bundle of airtime on their numbers, while non-MTN customers must load airtime on their registered accounts on the portal to access the service. Over the past year MTN introduced 3G+ mobile internet services and rolled out an additional 600km of fibre infrastructure, increasing its footprint to 2,800km.
