Monday 15 July 2013 | 16:32 CET | News
MTN Uganda has selected 15 business ideas and rewarded each with UGX 5 million as start-up capital at the Sawa Ya Cash business competition. The 15-week competition attracted over 30,000 applications. Sawa Ya Cash, literally meaning "Cash hour", is the first edition of a local reality TV series in which entrepreneurship candidates compete to win a cash prize for their business. Inspire Africa, a human capital development organization, partnered with MTN Uganda as its executive sponsor and Bank of Africa to produce the TV show. MTN Uganda has invested UGX 182 million in the partnership.
