MTS, Ericsson enter strategic partnership to develop private networks in Russia

Russian operator MTS has signed an agreement to enter a partnership with Ericsson to develop private 5G-ready networks for industrial enterprises in Russia. Since 2019, MTS and Ericsson have implemented more than fifteen pilot projects for private networks in various sectors. They have signed contracts to construct commercial LTE/5G-ready networks for enterprises including Sibur, Evraz and Severstal and this September, they built Russia's first commercial dedicated network, for Polymetal.
