Russian mobile operator MTS has launched its LTE services in oil and gas fields and remote settlements in the Yugra region, reports Comnews.ru. The network was expanded with refarming of spectrum used by the operator there and more bands allocated for LTE services.

An area including 150,000 residents has been covered with the LTE network. MTS uses the 2,100 MHz band for LTE services, which was earlier used only for UMTS services.
