MTS places bonds using blockchain

Russian mobile operator MTS has placed a RUB 750 million bond emission using blockchain technology, reports Cnews.ru. The operator claims that it was one of the first commercial bond offerings placed in Russia using smart-contracts over blockchain. 

The re-payment term totals 182 days, with an annual interest rate of 6.8 percent. The blockchain platform Hyperledger Fabric 1.1. from the National Settlement Depository was used. Russian bank Sberbank was the main purchaser.
