MultiChoice criticises SABC proposal for pay-TV advertising revenue cap

MultiChoice has criticised the SABC for asking the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) to limit advertising revenue received by subscription broadcasters, Businesslive reported. The SABC is proposing that subscription services should be capped at 25 percent of total television ad revenue in the country. It says this will level the playing field and throw free-to-air broadcasters a lifeline in a tough operating environment.
