MultiChoice Kenya says piracy dents ability to pay prevailing rates to local content producers

Friday 1 November 2019 | 10:20 CET | News
MultiChoice Kenya has decried infringement on its content through illegal connections, popularly known as 'DStv Sambaza', saying the trend is lowering pay for its local content producers, the Business Daily reported. This comes at a time when the company is facing stiff competition from home internet, digital TV and online streaming sites. DStv Sambaza is popular with the lower middle class who would rather pay as little as KES 1,000 for unauthorised access to Multichoice premium content.
