MultiChoice, South Africa take Etv to court over digital TV

South Africa's Communications Department and MultiChoice have lodged appeals at the Constitutional Court over the legal battle surrounding the roll-out of unencrypted digital terrestrial television services in South Africa. The pair have accused Etv of "wanting government to pay for it to be able to start encrypted pay-TV services", reports EWN. The move follows the Supreme Court of Appeal ruling for Etv in its case against Communications Minister Faith Muthambi over the use of unencrypted set-top boxes.
