NAmerica mobile market will be worth USD 1 tln by 2020 - GSMA

Smartphones connected to 4G networks will make up 4 out of 5 mobile connections in North America by 2020, more than in any other region of the world, according to the latest report from GSMA. By 2020, North America's mobile ecosystem will be worth USD 1 trillion, equivalent to almost 5 percent of regional GDP. With a lead in 4G and smartphone adoption, North America is also expected to quickly migrate to 5G networks and services such as ultra-HD video, AR/VR, AI and autonomous driving. In fact, GSMA sees 5G accounting for half of the North American mobile market by 2025.
