NAPAfrica grows 7-fold in 5 years to be Africa's largest IXP

Friday 5 May 2017 | 10:08 CET | News
NAPAfrica has grown seven-fold to become not only the largest in Africa, but one of the top three IXP's in the Southern Hemisphere, as well as the regional internet traffic hub for sub-Saharan Africa since its launch in 2012 as Africa's first neutral Internet eXchange Point (IXP). Lex van Wyk, CEO of Teraco, home to NAPAfrica, says that NAPAfrica has made an undeniable impact and has forever changed the face of peering in Africa continent. IXPs are widely considered to help develop markets, by lowering the cost of transit and are critical for bringing content closer to the consumer.
