Nashua Mobile sale gets regulatory clearance

South Africa's Competition Tribunal has approved that Altech Autopage, MTN and Vodacom take over Nashua Mobile's subscriber base. According to ITWeb, the three deals were approved unconditionally, although undertakings were made by the acquiring companies in a bid to protect jobs at the cellular service provider, which is now set to cease to exist. In June, Reunert, the parent company of the mobile service provider, announced that Nashua Mobile would dispose of its subscriber bases due to unacceptable returns. Nashua Mobile, which has around 950,000 customers in total, was formed in 2000
