NBC invites proposals for freeview digital TV channels

National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) has commenced the process of issuing licences for the provision of freeview digital television. Awwalu Salihu, director of public affairs said that after a detailed assessment of the TV market, the watchdog observed serious gaps in the content available to serve the social and economic needs of the public. It has therefore invited prospective service providers to submit proposals to fill the gaps, as a preliminary step to applying for licences, CommunciationsWeek reported.
