NBR, operators continue Sim tax dispute

Bangladeshi mobile operators met with the National Board of Revenue (NBR) in an attempt to resolve a dispute over Sim replacement taxes, the Financial Express reports. The NBR is seeking a total of BDT 30.18 billion from Grameenphone, Banglalink, and Robi Axiata in Sim replacement taxes. However, the operators opposed the amount and took the case to court. The High Court then asked the operators to go back to the NBR and resolve the issue within 120 days. The operators, which are hoping to resolve the issue before the 3G auction in September, met with the authority on 16 July but the parties
