NCC accepts NGN 10.5 bln interconnection debt payments

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) says about NGN 10.5 billion has been paid through the agency's intervention facility for interconnection debts, reports Today.ng. Executive vice chairman Umar Danbatta says the regulator is not interested in micro-managing financial and relationships among service providers that have been substantially protected by subsisting commercial agreements. Danbatta said the commission's approach to interconnect and Value Added Service (VAS) debts in the telecommunications industry had been persuasive.
