NCC begins review of national numbering plan

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) says it has begun a review of the National Numbering Plan (NNP) to ensure that telecom system is regulated in tandem with demand in the fourth industrial revolution (4IR), reports the Guardian. NCC CEO Umar Danbatta said this follows recent developments in the global telecoms industry such as M2M communications, the IoT, OTT and other services made possible by 4G networks and the future 5G/6G technologies.
