NCC eyes USD 987 mln from auction of 5G licences

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) says it expects to raise at least USD 987 million from the five slots of spectrum on offer for the deployment of the 5G services, CommunicationsWeek reported. The 3.5 GHz spectrum auction will be held on 13 December and the NCC has pegged the reserve price at USD 197.4 million per slot. NCC director of spectrum administration Oluwatoyin Asaju told a stakeholders' consultative forum in Lagos that a reserve price of approximately NGN 75 billion only is to be used.
