NCC fines four operators NGN 1.2 bln for poor service

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has fined four major telecommunication operators a total of NGN 1.2 billion for failing to adhere to quality of service regulations. Last year, the NCC developed and published certain Key Performance Indicator (KPI) levels to be met by telecommunication service providers, but an investigation has found that they failed to meet thse, The Sun reported. MTN Nigeria and Etisalat have been fined NGN 360 million each, while Airtel is to pay NGN 270 million and Globacom attracted a penalty of NGN 180 million.
