NCC fines four telcos NGN 74 mln for violating regulations

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has fined the country's four major network operators a total of NGN 74 million for various infractions, reports CommunicationsWeek. The NCC had in 2018 highlighted some noncompliance by the network providers "such as the routing of a minimum of 10 percent of interconnect traffic through interconnect exchange licensees; quality of service; approval for promotions and advertisements; and SIM registration in a controlled environment, among others." The fine however, is basically for Sim registration infractions, unapproved promos and advertisements,
