NCC partners law enforcement to guard telecom infrastructure

The Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC) has begun a partnership with law enforcement agencies to step up regulatory activities and protect telecom installations, facilities and infrastructure. NCC CEO Umar Garba Danbatta said the coming of mobile telecoms to Nigeria with its phenomenal growth and contribution to Gross Domestic Product (GDP) has also brought a proliferation of cyber-crimes, theft and vandalism of telecom equipment. Danbatta said the growth in the telecommunications sector in the last fifteen years has been phenomenal by all standards.
