NCC refuses to let telecom operators raise prices

Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has refused to grant telecom operators in the country permission to increase prices of calls and data, to protect many people from being deprived of access to communications. Umar Garba Danbatta, NCC's executive vice chairman and CEO said that although Nigeria has one of the lowest telecom tariffs in the world, calls for increases by operators were unnecessary.
